The National Student Campaign Against Hunger and Homelessness will hold their annual conference from November 2 - 4, 2007 in Madison, Wisconsin at the University of Wisconsin. The conference features panel presentations, workshops, and an "Opportunities and Action Fair," where students can meet representatives from local and national organizations working on hunger, homelessness, and poverty issues. Students from more than approximately 100 schools are expected to attend this year's event.
I think this conference would be very helpfully. This will expose different organizations to students, so they are more aware of their options so they can join the organization they want to. Getting students to go is a good prime age to get them to join things, so maybe they can follow that organization for many years. Even if they don't help long, the time they do donate will help just as much.
This will also help organizations to grow to help more of the population. Having a smaller organization would have a rough start getting people to donate their time, but things like this conference will help those types of organizations to grow to help more people.

I think conferences like this are a great idea to have. Especially since they are targeting young college students. They will be exposed to organizations working on hunger, homelessness, and poverty issues. This will give them the opportunity to do their share and reach out to help those in need. This will help the organizations grow which will help more people in the long run because they will have more support.

I'm glad to see that a week in November is devoted to this, so more people can help donate or even just help donate their time for others in need. With more people coming together to help organizations will just bring us one step closer to ending homelessness and hunger
