The 2007 "Walk the World" event will take place on May 13. Walk the World is a global event to raise awareness about the 400 million hungry children around the world and the need for action. You can organize a walk in your local area or participate in one that is already being organized. The 2006 event had more than 760,000 participants in 118 countries.
Walk the World is a project of the United Nations World Food Programme and you can learn more at the FightHunger.org website.

I believe that everyone able to go to this even should go out and be apart of raising money for hungry children. People should set up groups to help walk and raise money. This is very important because there are millions of children hungry on our country, and if we could help in any way possible I believe we should help. This wouls really help feed as many kids as we can and would definately put a smile on the kids faces. This makes a great impact on these kids, so everyone please do a good deed and help these kids out and save lifes.

I think it's great that there are events like this to raise awareness. 400 million hungry children around the world is not only very sad but it's also outrageous. Too many innocent children suffer everyday and even die due to malnutrition and hunger. Something needs to be done, we have to get these high numbers down. Raising awareness is the first step, the more people know the more they will be willing to help. Every little effort will help in the long run.

Although, programs like these are great, it is sad that we have to organize like this to raise awareness. It's so sad to think that people have really forgotten that there are children out there that are starving.People are so into themselves that they forget that there are people, innocent children who need more help than the world has given them.

400 million children are hungry around the world and we need to organize events to raise awareness, that is sad because we should already be aware of this. It is just hard because some people may not like to help out others just because they believe they do not need to, but some people do help out and try to save children around the world. I think this walk the world event is great because the people who would like to help out but do not know where to start, can follow these people and help out. I just believe that it is important to try to help out, even if it was not successful at least you tried to make a difference.
